When there are no words
We are well acquainted with the sense of confusion and helplessness that a family feels when they are faced with the task of planning a funeral that would honor their loved one
in the midst of the sort of pain that renders most of us immobal. The most critical need they have is for someone to help them create a memorial service that will bring comfort
to the grieving while honoring the life that was lost. Funeral home staff are trained for this. Pastors are trained for this. But more often then not the multi media piece gets thrown
together by a well intended family member who may or may not have ever created a video piece before. Though it winds up being a focal point of the service it's often missing or
poorly developed.
Durable Memories was formed, in part, because we wanted
to help people to have the sort of memorial video that they need. One that brought comfort. One that brought back a piece of joy. One that really illuminated the life and love of
the person that was. One that elevated the hearts of those in attendance. One that would continue to bring joy every time it was watched in the future.
While offering comfort and support, we begin to give clear direction to the family to gather specific kinds of multi media. (video & still pictures) so that we can create a lasting
memorial that will be a blessing to the family instantly... and for years to come.
After the initial consultation, we collect all that the family and friends have gathered together for the CineStory. Back in our studio, we select and compile the elements for
their video and prepare a 5, 10 or 15 minute dvd to be used at the service relieving the family of the effort and stress associated with trying to create a quality presentation at a
time when they have much more on their minds and hearts.
What makes our product different? Compassion combined with Creativity. We understand that when there are no words... there is still so much that needs to be said. A funeral
is an opportunity to honor a life that comes by once and never again. We truly want to help people to have something that goes beyond words and last beyond that sorrowful
day..
